Who is Robin ?
Robin is a Young French boy who loves English and embarked on his first visit to the UK alone in the summer of 2024.
For his first trip, he chose the Teen course in Chester.
So how did it go ?
Letter from Robin, aged – 13 (when he did his course …..)
Dear Irène,
I want first to thank you for your help and the good advice you gave to my father Eric.
Let me share with you some feedback, which I hope you will appreciate.
The trip was very good. Making friends with people from other countries was so funny.
The activities were varied. We have discovered new places, monuments or cities. It’s very interesting for our own culture. “Discover Chester” activities were a good training for us to know the city.
The sport was a good idea because the instructions were given in English. It was disruptive to us but in a good sense.
The Friday afternoon and the Saturday all-day excursion were very interesting and original: we were evolving as an eight-student group.
I have progressed a lot with my teachers. The lessons in Chester were very different from French lessons. It pushed us to speak English continuously. The activities were always in team. We had to cooperate. I was very happy to do that.
My host family was very welcoming. I was with four other students in my host family. They were taller than me, and we were from different nationalities. So, we had to speak English to communicate. We were talking during the dinners. It was a good way to practise, regularly.
To finish, it was my best trip ever for two weeks abroad. So, I will certainly remember my first experience with ELC for a long time. I really thank ELC for the quality of its teaching, thanks to a very nice immersion.
