Vejer
Vejer de la Frontera is an exceptional historic town in the South of Spain, surrounded by beautiful beaches and countryside. The area has been granted the status of ‘Area of Historic and Artistic Interest’ and has also won the ‘Most Beautiful Towns of Spain’ award.
But the town has also moved into the 21st Century and among the whitewashed houses with their flower-filled balconies are up to date Internet cafés, hotels, shops, modern restaurants, galleries and popular cafés.
The School
Vejer is also a popular site for paragliding with both a canoeing club and a scuba-diving club nearby. Snorkelling, hiking, fly-surfing, wind-surfing and traditional surfing are all popular in the area.
The well-equipped school occupies a beautiful 19th century mansion with large gardens, patios, constructed on top of the ancient Moorish town walls .
The school offers the ideal opportunity of combining learning the language with a study of the Spanish culture in a small, friendly community that loves to welcome foreigners. Students come from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds and the school offers a wide range of Spanish courses all year round to cater for their needs.
Social Programme
All the Spanish Courses are supplemented by a programme of activities, which includes discussions, lectures, films, practical activities and excursions. These give you the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics such as Spanish cooking, Spanish literature, arts, and Flamenco dancing and music.
Each weekend there is an excursion of one or two days to places further afield – to Sevilla, Córdoba, Morocco, Cádiz, Ronda.
The school has a particularly wide choice of sports that students can take part in. They include :

- Mountain biking
- Hiking
Accommodation
The school offers several different types of accommodation in Vejer, including shared flats, Spanish host families and exclusive apartments.
Homestay
With a host family, students have their own room and can choose either full or half board. The living room and bathroom are shared with the other members of the family. The kitchen is almost always reserved for the members of the family.
Students also have access to the terrace, patio or balcony, if the house has one. Laundry service once a week is included.
Shared flats
Students can also live with other foreign students from the school in typical Andalusian village houses or in flats.
Two to six students share a house or flat with individual or double rooms, one or two bathrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine. Bed linen is provided but students are asked to bring their own towels. During the cold months heating is provided in the common areas.
Rooms are handed over clean and tidy. Students are expected to cooperate with the daily duties of their room and communal areas.
Own Apartment
The School is housed in a beautiful historic building in the centre of the old part of Vejer. There are two private apartments, each with a kitchen/living room, twin bedroom and a suite bathroom.
Hotel or boarding house
This can be reserved through Crossroads.
Own Apartment and Apart-Hotel accommodation is available upon request.
Campsite
There are several inexpensive campsites near Vejer, some of which are very close to the beach. If you bring a vehicle, a campsite might be an alternative to accommodation in town.
