While it offers a great variety of cultural and sporting activities it is small enough to help students quickly feel at home in a new environment. San Sebastian has one of the best in-city beaches in Europe. Classrooms are just minutes away from everything the beach has to offer, and it’s only a short ride the beautiful Pyrenees Mountains.

The School

Our partner is San Sebastian’s largest language school with over twenty years experience of organising Spanish courses and welcoming visitors to the city. The school prides itself on making sure that students are well cared for, and that your stay is enjoyable.

The new Spanish school was opened in 2000 and is located a 5-minute walk away from the centre of San Sebastian, next to a modern sports centre and the Cristina Enea Park, one of the most popular green areas in San Sebastian. It is also close to numerous bars and restaurants where you can have a coffee during the breaks or eat after classes.
Facilities include :

  • a large reception area
  • a spacious social area and library with graded reading materials, Spanish newspapers and magazines
  • an open air terrace with snacks, coffee and drinks machines
  •  environmentally-friendly air conditioned classrooms
  • computers with free Internet access for students
  • modern teaching aids, including DVDs and CD players
  • a special arrangement with the gymnasium next door for student membership

The teachers

All Spanish teachers are native speakers with training and experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. They take part in regular in-house teacher development programmes to ensure the highest quality teaching. 

Social Programme

The school has a full social programme taking advantage of its location and the numerous events that take place in the city. The activities run throughout the year allowing you to make the most of your time in San Sebastian. Activities include: city tours, museum visits, sporting events, nature hikes, parties and festival celebrations. 

Accommodation

Homestay

This is always a popular choice as it gived you the opportunity to practise your Spanish and learn about Spanish culture.
There is a wide variety of host families, some are young couples, some have children still living at home and others have grown up children. However, most families live in flats, as there are practically no individual houses in San Sebastian.
Shared Apartments
The student has his/her own independent room, and shares communal facilities with other students, up to 5 per apartment. They are normally located 5 to 30 minutes from the school, either on foot or by public transport.

Private Apartments

For groups of students coming together, students coming with their families, or for people wanting more privacy, private apartments may be the best choice.
Private apartments are usually rented for calendar month periods, although some may be available for two-week stays.

Residence

July only
The school has use of a popular students’ residence just five minutes from the beach.
Accommodation is full-board, in a variety of different room types.
