Learn English in beautiful, historic Bath.

Bath, about 90 minutes west of London, is one of Britain’s most attractive and most visited cities. With its world famous Roman baths and more historic buildings than almost anywhere else in the country, the whole city has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Bath combines this rich heritage with a modern and dynamic town centre and, like Oxford and Cambridge, it is home to a prestigious university offering plenty of leisure activities for visitors, old and young alike

The School

We have chosen a popular, well established school to provide our courses in this very popular visitor destination.

  • It is accredited by the British Council and English UK.
  • It provides year-round courses and activities to help you reach your goals and enjoy your time in the UK.
  • It is located in a historic building in the heart of the city, near many of the city’s attractions.
  • It consists of 15 classrooms with computer and self study facilities.
  • There is also a common room with tea and coffee facilities, TV and video.

A second building is just two minutes walk from the main school. Together they can accommodate 200 students.

Social Programme

The school has an activities manager who arranges a varied programme of social activities to help you get to know other students, to learn about British culture and to give you opportunities to practice your English.

There is a weekly programme throughout the year with at least two evening activities and one full day excursion at the weekend. During the summer months there are extra optional activities.

Whatever time of year you choose to come, the student services staff are there to give practical advice and suggestions about what to do in your free time.

Afternoon and evening activities can include :

  • Sports - football, volleyball, swimming, bowling, golf, tenni s, dry slope skiing, horse riding, rugby, abseiling etc.
  • Pub evenings / quizzes
  • Parties - music dancing and great food
  • Karaoke evenings
  • Salsa evenings

Bath also has excursions to some of the UK’s most popular places of interest including :

  • University city of Oxford
  • Warwick castle
  • Longleat Safari Park
  • Stratford-Upon-Avon
  • Stonehenge
  • King Arthur's Glastonbury

Accommodation

Homestay

Most students stay with local host families. Families are carefully chosen and regularly checked to ensure a high standard of welcome for and compatibility with our students whether young teenagers or professional men and women. Students are normally placed with families living from 10 to 30 minutes from the school.
Host families write to their student guests before they arrive and meet them at the bus or train station on arrival in Bath. In case of any problems, the school’s student accommodation and welfare co-ordinator is always available to talk to students or their host families.
Usually, you are expected to arrive on the Sunday before your course begins and leave on the Saturday after the course finishes.

Standard Homestay provides :

  • Single room, breakfast, evening meal, all meals at weekends
  • Shared rooms on request
  • Room with study desk or table
  • No other student of the same mother tongue in the same family
