How will I learn?
By really using the language not just ‘knowing’ it …..
Adapted from International House, Barcelona
The main objective of most of the courses in Crossroads Languages programme is to
improve the students' communicative skills with the emphasis on developing
the students' abilities to speak and understand spoken language.
For this reason, classes are conducted entirely in the language you are learning
and students are given plenty of opportunity to practise the sort of language they
are likely to need outside the classroom.
No matter which course you choose, or where you take it, your teacher will have
you working with other people, talking to them, using your new language,
because it's important that you learn to do that.
The goal is not just to "know" a language, but to be able to use it!
This still means that attention is paid to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing
skills. A wide variety of materials is used, including published materials from
many sources, as well as materials which have been written by the schools’ own teachers.
